Welcome Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Some times words fail me and sometimes, I realize just how lucky I am.

Memorial Day is one of those times where both hold true...For those who have died in war times, and to their families and friends I am truly grateful. There are just no words to express 'thank you'.

May God Bless You.
I treasure my freedom and enslavement of any kind just rouses my anger and my fear as well. We are so lucky in this country to have our democracy. Because people were willing to fight and die for freedom, I am able to treasure mine.
I was so happy to find Operation Write Home, it has allowed me to give to those who put their life on the line for the cause of freedom. Freedom is never free.

In keeping with the theme I made a red white and blue card keeping it simple.

My red white and blue card is a mix of layered rectangles with thinking of you stamped in blue and is lined.

I loved this cupcake graphic, so I wanted to use it on a card.

I used the idea found here to make the template for the border, and layered the stripe below the curve ...and assembled with layers of color matching stripe, square and polka dot paper. ‘You’re so sweet’ is hand lettered with green watercolor marker and black ink.

I like to line all my cards, just in case the card sender has the time to write down their thoughts. I use a full sheet of paper, fold it in quarters, and use just a smidge of glue so they can rip out the page if they want to and write on it separately from the card and just tuck it back in when it gets mailed.

When I write my anyhero cards I express my gratitude to them and the work they do, and I like to enclose a couple of jokes as well. I print them off of the Internet and attach them to the card and fold it up separately from the main body of the letter.

I always send in a little cash donation, and I always get a big thank you back. I really like that.

In support of this awesome group, I wanted to offer a little hop candy. My main online endeavor is handmade soap, so I am offering the bar of your choice to three separate winners...my treat! I realize a person can get mighty dirty making cards.

If you wish to enter the drawing, just say soap at the very end of your comment.

The names will be drawn from a hat by...
 <-- random mess generators  -->
and announced one week from today.

(I will contact winners personally by the link to your blog.)
