Good Friday

http://www.oceansbridge.com/oil-paintings/product/46931/eastermorning

I guess I am kind of amazed that here we are in the year 2010 and it's Easter. I mean where have I been?

Busy that's where, time flys when you are busy. Blessing? Curse? Just depends I guess. I am just catching up on some Easter blogs. Gotta share, you know how I am. First from Lori Stanley Roeleveld...

Did He or didn't He? Lori has a compelling article with a lot of good points and her usual bits of  humor. Must read, http://loristanleyroeleveld.blogspot.com/2010/04/did-he-or-didnt-he-question-we-all-have.html

Then to the Anchoress. She talks about Mary...
".......think of Mary, who “never did anything to deserve it,” -who spent her whole life only saying “yes” to Him, and in service to His biggest project, ever- but who still had to stay at the foot of her son’s cross and watch him die a most horrible death, after having endured terrible cruelty.    Even she didn’t know what was going to happen next. A mother grieves the unbearable loss of her son, through Passover, and then goes to anoint his body only to find it gone!
What sort of torment is this? Then he is back (!) but he is no longer hers alone, if he had ever been – and for the rest of her life, as she watches His church take shape and form, and helps where she can, she still has all of those memories – the memories a mother cherishes – of an infant tugging at the collar of her gown, looking to nurse, of her son and his loving six-year-old hugs, the scraped knees, the scampish days, the meals they shared. None of this could have been easy for Mary to remember or to reconcile with her human self, or her maternity.
He is God. But he was her son, and always will be. He is her son. Her little lad. Her God"

I too think about Mary. Those very thoughts that the Anchoress wrote. The post is here: http://www.firstthings.com/blogs/theanchoress/2010/04/01/meditating-the-crucifix/

This is so moving, Marys thoughts, hankie alert...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2THlCm_GTQ

Isaiah 53:3-7 (New Living Translation)

3 He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care. 4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins.
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. 7 He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.

Many Thanks Lovely Vanessa!

Well, to reply to the alluding that I was doing in the post before, my big excitement is I am featured on the blog Crafty and Creative!

*jump*jump*clap*clap*

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_2&listing_id=43218596

I have the spot of honor as the first recipient of the blog award bestowed upon one, when they are featured on Crafty and Creative. (Notice I have it listed proudly in my sidebar) It is one of my favorite blogs, they feature new recipes, the best of etsy- and bits and snippets of the blog owners life. The perfect combo.

Vanessa (who owns Crafty and Creative) is also a long time friend of mine, who's work I admire greatly. She is a graphic artist and owns Bears Banners and Graphics with her husband Emil. These are her lovely graphics for business cards banners and more.

They also design websites and have have several handy print options, such as business cards and huge (or not, depending on the size you need) craft fair banners. I can say, the items that she has done for me have been absolutly stellar.

Here's part of Bears Banners and Graphics profile: We are a husband and wife graphic and website design team. We take pride in our work. We only offer the best customer service, quality design products and printing. http://www.etsy.com/people/bearcengic

Get the milk, I tell you, get the milk! Too cute.

So, in the midst of my (*yyyawwwwwn*) tax prep, I have a bright spot in my day today. Thanks so much Crafty and Creative!

What a coincidence that Easter approacheth,

Of course this brings to mind,

Cowboy music. There were a few of them back then my absolute favorite was Roy Rogers. I was a Roy Rogers groupie and I wanted to marry him, except I thought Dale Evans was so 'purtee' that I gave up on that real quick, and started totin a gun, and wearing the hat! ...see
