Two things today, brownies and shoes. I don't know, just woke up with thought of brownies and shoes.

I came across a diet recipe for brownies...I know...come on...but you know, I can buy the lie with the rest of them.

I was strong then, and just whisked on by but now, on second thought, I am on the prowl. After all, chocolate is a major food group and an antioxidant. In the category of it's good for you!

This pic above belongs with this recipe using Splenda. Sure looks tasty if you have some splenda around the house, plus the recipe  calls for cocoa, and dark chocolate. hmmm....

This recipe: Ingredients

2 c. fine graham cracker crumbs, (28 crackers)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. skim milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 TBS sifted powdered sugar

Is a new one to me and purports 44 calories per piece, there seems to be some discussion on how big the pieces are...lol...but it is interesting.

There sure are a lot of recipes out there for diet brownies...

This one from Alicia Silverstone found here
 3/4 cup (175 milliliters) whole-wheat pastry flour
3/4 cup (175 milliliters) brown rice flour
1/2 cup (120 ml) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups (350 ml) maple sugar
3/4 (175 ml) cup soy/rice milk blend (or any nondairy milk)
3/4 (175 ml) cup brewed decaf coffee
1/2 (120 ml) cup canola oil
1/2 (120 ml) cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
For the glaze:
1 1/2 cups (350 ml) grain-sweetened, nondairy chocolate or carob chips
1/2 cup (120 ml) Earth Balance (or other vegan) butter

It seems super healthy but tripple the calories...look at the maple sugar. zowie. Skip on over to the website, it is from India. Interesting!

Well I am out of time this morning, I spent too much time hovering around the baked goods. My thought of shoes just flew out the other ear.
