OPERATION WRITE HOME!

Hey, just an update from me. I am working on my CHRISTMAS cards, (yes, I actually said the C word,) for Operation Write Home. I am sort of obsessed by the thought that there might be a soldier who doesn't get a card to send home at Christmas time, so I am up late tonight to get some work done on that project. I mean really, how many is too many for me who is home safe in my house to make -while some person is eating sand in a foreign country. So help me out and take a look at this awesome endeavor sponsored by normal human overworked people who want to show some heart and some support for our military and rely entirely on volunteers and card donations. You can also drop a dime if you wish, they accept money to help with the shiping to get to the Middle East. Make a card for a kid, its not too late for Christmas cards, we have till November 1 to postmark so that they will get them in time to send them home.

Be an angel.

Thanks.Y

Right place, right time

Have you every just been at the right place at the right time?

I'm sure you have. If you are anything like me those times are few and far between. I have been taking such a beating on ebay with other more seasoned and experienced button collectors, it must have just been my time to get an awesome listing!

I think they are mid century 50's vintage. Here's what the listing said.
"This is a huge lot of mixed vintage buttons ~ these seem to be mostly made of plastic or composite; some have rhinestones or Mother-of-Pearl ~ a very nice "grab bag" for a crafter."

Very nice grab bag indeed! This was just 4 handfuls of what I got. The assortment is just unbelievable, who knew!

Colors of the wind

When autumn wind goes running
It does some magic things.
It gives the shadows dancing shoes
It gives the bright leaves wings
When autumn wind goes running

It curls the bonfire's tail of smoke
And shares a little whispered joke
With cornstalks who delight to prattle
It turns a seed pod into a rattle
When autumn wind goes running

Leaves in the Fall come tumbling down,
Scarlet and yellow, russet and brown,
Leaves in the garden are swept in a heap,
The trees are ready for sleep.

A lovely lovely lady makes these amazing little pins FROM SCRATCH. She featured some pics in a group that we are in and I was instantly smitten. So sweet! I wanted to share her lovely creation.
Happy Gazing!

Click through to her websites, she has so many little lovelies I know you will be smitten as well.
